S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt and TV dance sensation Louie Spence have dramatically bowed out of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, making their exit in the very first episode of the new series. The Channel 4 show kicked off with a bang as the 14 celebrity contestants were hooded and lined up on a breakwater, only to be confronted by chief instructor Billy Billingham who sternly warned them against smiling, saying "don't grin at me".

Billingham then put the celebs through their paces with two gruelling tasks: a daring 26ft dive into the sea followed by a swim to a waiting boat, and a high-stakes mission to rescue hostages from a building and then detonate it using a grenade. However, before the second task could commence, 44-year-old Spearritt handed in her armband, admitting, "I'm done, I'm sorry, I've reached a point". Her pre-recorded interview revealed her doubts about lasting even a day, confessing she "wouldn't forgive myself" if she did.

Meanwhile, during the explosive task, Spence, famed for his role in Sky TV's Pineapple Dance Studios, mistakenly hurled a grenade into the building while hostages remained inside. Following this blunder, he expressed his desire to leave, declining the offer for a second chance and stating, "I want to do an immediate withdrawal, I just don't have the conviction, and I feel as though I'm not dedicated enough."

Despite being told he had barely begun, Spence stood firm, simply responding "that's what I mean".

Following the initial task, ex-model Rebecca Loos was called in by directing staff after she abandoned the swimming challenge. They encouraged her to discuss her alleged affair with football legend Sir David Beckham, whom she previously worked for as a personal assistant.

Before the first task, former Drag Race UK star Bimini Bon Boulash confidently claimed that the show would be "a piece of piss", attributing this to their experiences growing up as a queer individual in Norfolk.

After the second task, ex-Watford striker Troy Deeney, who had also launched a grenade into the building before rescuing the hostages, was summoned by the instructors. He opened up about the physical abuse he and his mother endured from his late father.

The programme involves celebrities undergoing SAS training, where they are not eliminated but can be dismissed by the directing staff or choose to withdraw themselves. The remaining participants at the end are declared the winners.

The rest of the celebrity recruits include ex-drug mule Michaella McCollum, former footballer Adebayo Akinfenwa, Strictly Come Dancing 2025 runner-up Tasha Ghouri, previous The Traitors winner Harry Clark, rapper Lady Leshurr, boxer Conor Benn, singer Lucy Spraggan, and former Love Island contestants Chloe Burrows and Adam Collard.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins will continue on Channel 4 on Monday at 9pm.
