The partnership between TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad will mark a new chapter with the duo working on a brand new 450cc motorcycle platform for some time now. The first model to be underpinned by this new platform will be the F 450 GS that made its debut as a concept at EICMA last year.

The new 450cc range will eventually replace the 310cc lineup including G 310 GS, G 310 R and G 310 RR, that currently serve as the entry point to the BMW Motorrad globally. Expected to make its debut in the production form at EICMA later in November this year at Milan in Italy, patent images of the BMW F 450 have recently surfaced on the internet.

BMW F 450 GS: Expected design & features

The patents of the upcoming entrylevel adventure tourer suggests a productionspec version that has been filed with the intellectual property office of the United Kingdom. The patent looks almost identical to the concept revealed last year which drew most of its design inspiration from the larger ADVs from the German bikemaker like F 900 GS and R 1300 GS.

The F 450 GS follows the classic ADV design language, featuring a prominent front beak paired with a tall windscreen and a distinctive headlamp cluster housing an Xshaped LED DRL. The  goldenfinished front forks  add a premium touch. There’s one difference though — the production version gets splitstyle seats unlike the solo rider’s saddle seen in the concept previously.

Additional elements include sturdy knuckle guards, a robust engine sump guard, a sleek floating tail section, and an upswept underseat exhaust. In terms of features, expect the F 450 GS to come equipped with a colour TFT instrument panel, and electronic aids such as leansensitive traction control, ride modes, cornering ABS, etc.

BMW F 450 GS: Expected mechanical specs

BMW Motorrad hasn’t officially revealed complete technical specifications about the F 450 GS but the images reveal a lot about the bike’s mechanical details. For starters, the bike is seen standing on alloy wheels wrapped in slick tyres. It is likely that BMW will offer multiple variants to cater to different requirements of riders as KTM does with its ADV lineup

Braking duties will be carried out by front and rear disc brakes with switchable dualchannel ABS. Suspension setup will consist of upsidedown front forks and a rear monoshock. The concept model tipped the weighing scales at 179 kg. Powering the BMW F 450 GS will be a 450cc, twincylinder liquidcooled engine that kicks out 48 bhp. This will be paired with a 6speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.
