New Delhi. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given good news about the bullet train. He said on Sunday that India’s first bullet train service will start very soon and this will reach Mumbai to Ahmedabad in just two hours and seven minutes.
The Union Minister was on Bhavnagar Terminus, from where he flagged Ayodhya Express, Rewa-Pune Express and Jabalpur-Raipur Express through digital means. Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated the train services on the occasion.
Vaishnav said, “The first bullet train from Mumbai to Ahmedabad will start very soon and work on this project continues at a fast pace. Its start will take only two hours and seven minutes to travel from Mumbai to Ahmedabad.”
India’s first bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will cover a distance of 508 km. It will start from the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) region of Mumbai and connect Vapi, Surat, Anand, Vadodara and Ahmedabad in Gujarat at a high speed of 320 kmph.
Earlier on Wednesday, he said that the work of the Gujarat part of the bullet train corridor between Vapi and Sabarmati is planned to be completed by December 2027 and the entire project from Maharashtra to Sabarmati section is expected to be completed by December 2029. He gave this information in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
Vaishnav said that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project (508 km) is under construction from Japan with technical and financial assistance. He said that the project will pass through Gujarat, Maharashtra and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and plans to stop at 12 stations in Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati.
