Monsoon has once again started showing its strength in Haryana. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain in many districts of the state today on 05 August . Heavy showers can be seen especially in the eastern and southern districts.
According to the Meteorological Center Chandigarh , an orange alert for heavy rain has been declared in Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Faridabad, Mewat and Palwal . This means that there is a high possibility of heavy rain in these areas today, which may cause local waterlogging and traffic disruption .
At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued due to the possibility of light to moderate rain in some districts , which include: Panchkula, Ambala, Jind, Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri and Rewari.
Haryana has recorded 277.3 mm rainfall so far this monsoon season, which is 22% more than the normal (227.5 mm).
Highest rainfall : Yamuna Nagar (557.5 mm), Mahendragarh (543.9 mm)
Lowest rainfall : Kaithal (143.9 mm), Jind (144.3 mm)
