UP weather 5 August 2025: 21 districts are drowning in floods, there will be heavy rain today also but relief will be available from 6 August

UP Weather 5 August 2025: Rain and floods in Uttar Pradesh have increased the problems of the general public. 21 districts of the state are affected by floods. The capital Lucknow is also receiving intermittent rains. The district administration in the districts where floods have occurred is on alert. The public is facing many difficulties. However, it is estimated that the rain will stop from August 6.

After this, there is no possibility of heavy rain anywhere in the state. But on Tuesday, an alert has been issued for heavy rain in many districts of the state . At present, the weather has become completely pleasant due to heavy rain.

21 districts of the state are affected by floods . These include Kanpur Nagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Agra, Auraiya, Chitrakoot, Ballia, Banda, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Chandauli, Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Hamirpur, Etawah, Fatehpur, Bhadohi, Farrukhabad, Kasganj. Relief work is going on in full swing in all these districts. Patrolling is being done by NDRF, SDRF and PAC personnel. According to

the Meteorological Department, it may rain at almost all places in western UP on August 5. The scope of rain will reduce slightly in eastern UP. Rain and thundershowers may occur at many places here. During this period, heavy to very heavy rain may occur at some places in both parts.

On Tuesday, heavy to very heavy rain may occur in Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Kasganj districts. Along with this, heavy to very heavy rains are also expected in Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun and its surrounding areas. Similarly, an alert has been issued for heavy rains in Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur and Shravasti.

In the same sequence, heavy rains are also expected in Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Mainpuri and its surrounding areas. Apart from this, an alert has been issued for thunder and lightning in Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow and Barabanki.Along with this, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun and its surrounding areas. According to the Meteorological Department, due to active monsoon conditions in the state, heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at most places till August 5. After that, the intensity and regional distribution of rainfall in the state will start decreasing effectively.

48 tehsils of 21 districts of the state are affected. 1,72,255 people are affected by the flood in these areas. All of them have been provided relief. 20,336 cattle have been shifted to a safe place due to the flood. Relief material is being delivered to the affected areas with the help of 1,196 boats and motorboats. Apart from this, 4,867 boats have been prepositioned.

So far, about 1,20,00 food packets and 1,63,548 lunch packets have been distributed in these areas. So far, medical checkup of all these people is being done by 846 medical teams. Along with this, 1,277 flood posts have been established, which are monitoring the situation in the affected areas. So far, 38,615 people have been shifted to a safe place.
