In a Pang Aai Open Cup match on Aug. 3, Ueang Fah A’s Paramachot Duangmit committed a dangerous high-foot challenge against a Creative FC player and was immediately shown a red card by referee Siwakorn Singthana.

The enraged Ueang Fah A player responded by punching the referee twice in the face, before chasing him, grabbing his head, and continuing to beat him, according to images shared by Thailath.

Siwakorn was hospitalized with facial bruises and later filed a police report. Paramachot has since deactivated his social media accounts.

Siwakorn is a member of the FAT refereeing committee and currently officiates in Thai League 3, part of Thailand’s professional football system. Madam Pang has directed the FAT to cover all medical expenses for Siwakorn.

“All forms of violence, on or off the pitch, must be condemned. Players who violate these principles will be severely punished,” the FAT president told Siamsport. “I do not want to see such violent incidents again in Thai football.”

Violent behavior that damages the image of Thai football is often heavily penalized, including a suspension of 2 to 4 matches and fines ranging from 40,000 to 60,000 baht.

On-field violence in Thai football has been on the rise in recent years.

In February 2025, player Songkran Puangnoi had his contract terminated by his club, Hua Hin City, after attacking a referee and an opponent during a match against Rajpracha in Thai League 3.

At the 2023 SEA Games final in the Philippines, players and coaches from Thailand’s U23 team were also involved in a brawl with Indonesian players, resulting in a series of penalties.

Madam Pang, 59, whose real name is Nualphan Lamsam, has been a prominent figure in Thai football for nearly a decade. From 2015 to 2019, she was the general manager of the Thai women’s national team during the 2015 and 2019 World Cups. Later, she served as general manager of the Thai men’s national team, which won the AFF Cup in 2020 and 2022. In February 2024, she was elected FAT President, becoming the first woman to hold this position.

Madam Pang is also a businesswoman and the president of Muang Thai Insurance Group. She comes from one of Thailand’s wealthiest and most prominent families. She is also well-known for her fashion sense, makeup style, and beauty care routines. Her Instagram account has more than 841,000 followers, including thousands from Vietnam.
