Rennes have signed Przemyslaw Frankowski (30) on loan from Turkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray, both clubs have announced. The deal includes an option to make Frankowski’s move permanent. Rennes were  in the market for a right-sided fullback after parting ways with Academy product Lorenz Assignon, who joined Stuttgart earlier in the summer.

Frankowski is therefore back in Ligue 1 only six months after leaving Lens for Galatasaray. The Pole is the third summer signing for Rennes, after Valentin Rongier and Quentin Merlin. Furthermore, the 30-year-old wing-back is the third former Lens player signed by Rennes president Arnaud Pouille, the former RC Lens CEO, after Brice Samba and Seko Fofana, who joined Brittany during the winter transfer window.
