Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha won in Division A of HI Junior Women’s National Championship

Kakinada: On the fifth day of the 15th Hockey India Junior Women’s National Championship, the last two league matches of the division ‘B’ took place, in which Hockey Uttarakhand performed brilliantly and defeated Le Puducherry Hockey Hockey, followed by the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu.

In the first match, Hockey Uttarakhand defeated Le Puducherry Hockey 11–0, in which Aarti (32 ‘, 36’, 44 ‘, 53’) of Hockey Uttarakhand scored four goals, Rain Kahkasha Ali (36 ‘, 36’) and Jyoti Mahara (49 ‘, 54’) scored two goals, and Ankita Mishra (50 ‘), Pooja Kalra (18’) and Captain Saloni Pilkwal (18 ‘) scored a goal.

In the next match, the Tamil Nadu Hockey Unit played a 3–3 draw with Delhi, in which Tamil Nadu Hockey Unit captain Kavya V (25 ‘, 44’) scored two goals and his fellow Mumanja R (21 ‘) scored the third goal for his team. Meanwhile, Nisha (33 ‘), Deepika (54’) and captain Shubham (51 ‘) scored one goal for Delhi.

In the second part of the day, the Division ‘A’ match of the 15th Hockey India Junior Women’s National Championship began, in which Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Haryana, Hockey Jharkhand and Hockey Association of Odisha won their respective pool matches.

In the first division ‘A’ match, Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeated Hockey Chandigarh 5–0, in which Sharma Krishna (36 ‘, 45’) scored two goals for his team, while Kajal (29 ‘), Ayushi Patel (50’) and Annu (58 ‘) scored one goal each.

In the next match, Hockey Haryana defeated Hockey Bengal 7–1, in which Kirti (38 ‘, 47’, 56 ‘)) scored a hat-trick, Kajal (10’, 13 ‘) two goals and captain Khati Shashi (28’) and Pooja Malik (40 ‘) scored one goal for Hockey Haryana. The only goal for Hockey Bengal was scored by Lalpekasangi (44 ‘).

Hockey Jharkhand defeated Hockey Karnataka 2–0 in a tough match in a second-eye match of the day. Both teams were at par till Haftime, but Roshni Aind (44th minute) scored the first goal for Hockey Jharkhand in the last minutes of the third quarter, and then Saroj Kumari (58th minute) scored a goal in the last minutes of the match to win their team.

In the last match of the day, Hockey Association of Odisha defeated Hockey Andhra Pradesh 3–1, in which Surekha Bahala (13 ‘), Karuna Minj (21’) and Drupati Naik (56 ‘) scored goals for Hockey Association of Odisha, while Nehika Toppo (52’) for Hockey Andhra Pradesh was scoring.
