New Delhi: India drew the Anderson-Tendulkar five-match Test series played in England 2-2 and fast bowler Mohammed Siraj played the biggest role behind this. In the Oval Test India gave England a target of 374 runs which the Indian team successfully defended with the help of Sirajs career-best bowling (9/190). This is the second consecutive time that India has ended a Test series in England at 2-2. Earlier in 2021-22 India had also drawn the series under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. Gary Kirstens support for Gambhir and Team India Former India coach and South African legend Gary Kirsten expressed his happiness over this historic victory. He said I am very happy with the success of the Indian team and I am especially happy for Gautam Gambhir. I know him well and it feels good to know what he has achieved with the team. Kirsten said this during an event organized by Yugen Infra in Delhi. Mohammed Sirajs bowling and the exciting end of the Oval Test The end of the Oval Test was very exciting. England needed only 35 runs to win on the last day and had four wickets left. But Siraj and Prasidh Krishna together turned the tide of the match. Siraj first dismissed Jamie Smith then got Overton LBW. In the end when England needed 7 runs Siraj bowled Atkinson to complete five wickets and gave India a 6-run win. Kirsten also remembered Ishant Sharmas 2010 Mohali Test Kirsten shared a memory from his coaching days when he took Ishant Sharma to the nets to improve his batting. In the 2010 Mohali Test Ishant shared an 81-run partnership with VVS Laxman and scored 31 runs to bring the team close to victory. This innings was the highest score of Ishants Test career which remained so till 2019. Young players shone under Gambhirs coaching Gary Kirsten also praised this young team which is performing brilliantly in England under the leadership of Shubman Gill. He said It is very exciting to see the young players who are now coming into the Indian team. This team is doing very well and we should be excited by their success.
