These days the box office is witnessing tremendous success with films consistently becoming hits and makers earning huge profits. Amid this two major films are set to release simultaneously on 14 August. On one side is Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTRs action-packed film War 2 and on the other is South superstar Rajinikanth’s highly awaited film Coolie. Rajinikanth breaks his own record Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has already earned Rs 20 crore (around 969K USD) through advance bookings in USA even before its release. With that it surpassed Rajinikanths own record held by Jailer where it collected USD 948K from its premiere shows when it was released in 2023. A special highlight of the film is that Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth will be seen together on screen for the first time. There is tremendous excitement surrounding the film especially with advance bookings gaining momentum in international markets. The total advance booking tally for Coolie in North America has now crossed USD 1.12 million making Coolie one of the biggest Indian premieres in the region ever and one of the few Tamil films to achieve such numbers. Coolie vs War 2 Looking at the advance earnings of Coolie it is clear that this film can give tough competition to War 2. War 2 is also being released on a large scale and its Tamil version has been sold for Rs 90 crore in the USA which has already given a good profit to the makers. Coolie is expected to set the box office on fire as early shows in Kerala and Karnataka will begin at 6 am while shows in Tamil Nadu will begin at 9 am. In the United Kingdom the film has been censored without any cuts. The first show will begin at 12.30 am (5 am IST). Whats the fee of Rajinikanth in Coolie? According to reports the budget of Coolie is around Rs 375 crore. Rajinikanth has been paid Rs 150 crore for his role in the film where he will be seen playing a character named Deva. Nagarjuna also plays a significant role and has reportedly been paid around Rs 30 crore. As for Aamir Khan it is being said that he has agreed to work in the film without charging any fee as a gesture of friendship towards Rajinikanth. Shruti Haasan will also be seen in a key role in the film.
