Telecom companies are giving their rivals a tough challenge. Recently Vi came up with its new pack which poses a significant challenge to the industry leaders Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio and Sunil Mittal’s Airtel.
What makes Vodafone Idea’s new Rs 365 plan different from Jio and Airtel?
Recently Vi has introduced a new Prepaid plan that provides its customers with unlimited high-speed internet talktime and calling for a month. This plan is perfect for those users who want to take advantage of unlimited internet usage all month long and at a reasonable cost. The prepaid plan starts at Rs 365. It comes with unlimited internet and calls plus 100 SMS per day. One of the significant key features of this plan is that it provides high-speed 4G internet data meaning users don’t need a 5G phone to enjoy its benefits.
Vi has introduced a Rs 365 plan for users who prefer unlimited internet usage throughout the day with no limits on the daily data amount. An overwhelming majority of mobile recharge plans offer either a limited time or a limited amount of daily data. However Vi offers unlimited high-speed 4G internet for a fair price. With this plan Vi set a benchmark that competitors like Jio and Airtel will have to rise to. Jio and Airtel offer such unlimited plans to primarily 5G users which requires both having a 5G phone and being in a 5G network location. On the other hand Vi has no such requirement. This plan is directed to 4G users but 4G and 5G users can benefit fully.
Is there any hidden cap on the “unlimited” data usage?
Vi’s Rs 365 plan offers users unlimited 4G internet along with unlimited voice calling. This means the plan caters not only to heavy internet users but also to those who make a lot of voice calls. Additionally users recharging with this plan will receive 100 SMS per day.
One key point about Vis plan is that although it states unlimited data there exists an upper data cap limitation of 300GB which is the maximum data cap they offer for a 28-day validity period. This means the customer gets to use the equivalent of 300GB of data for the duration of the plan. For the average user this is more than sufficient for the month. In fact every other telecommunications company sets an upper limit on their unlimited plans but it is usually high enough to comfortably satisfy the user. The main point of interest in Vis plan is that there is no daily data limit so customer could use unlimited internet a day until they reach the 300GB data cap.
