The maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius at Delhi’s standard observatory Safdarjung, which is two degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was 26.8 degrees Celsius, which is 0.1 degrees Celsius below normal. The humidity level here ranged from 77 to 50 percent.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature of Delhi was 35 degrees Celsius at 5:30 pm. Whereas, the humidity level was 56 percent and the wind speed was 9.3 kilometers per hour. During this time, the heat index of Delhi i.e. feel like temperature was 43.2 degrees Celsius. That means the people of Delhi felt the heat like more than 43 degrees.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) on Friday was recorded at 116, which falls in the “moderate” category.
The AQI ranges from 0 to 50 ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
