Dhruvsarja accused fraud: Amboli police have registered an FIR against South actor Dhruv Kumar alias Dhruv Sarja for cheating producer-director Raghavendra Hegde for cheating Rs 3.15 crore. Hegde claims that with 18% interest from 2018, now their total loss is Rs 9.58 crore. According to the FIR, Kandivali West resident and owner of RH Entertainment and R-9 Entertainment, 52-year-old Hegde stepped into direction and making with Jaggi Dada in 2016. He alleged that after the success of the film, Dhruv came to his Mumbai office and showed interest in working with him. Between 2016 and 2018, Dhruv persuaded him to support the film 'The Soldier', even scripted it.
Hegde claimed that Dhruv demanded advance payment before signing on compromise, saying that he needed money to buy a flat, and assured him that the film would start soon. Between June 2018 and March 2021, Hegde allegedly borrowed Rs 3.15 crore in eight installments to Dhruv by borrowing at high interest.
On February 21, 2019, both signed an agreement under which Dhruv committed a commitment for 80 days shooting and promotion in 2020. However, Dhruv asked for more time and the project was further delayed due to epidemic. After the lockdown, he allegedly began to distance from Hegde. In 2021, Dhruv said he could not work on the film and continued to make excuses, even he asked Hegde to pay 6 other people associated with the project, which he did.
Hegde alleged that Dhruv neither worked on the film nor returned the money, but had contacted him with the intention of fraud. The Amboli police on August 7 registered a case under Section 318 (4) (fraud) and 316 (2) (criminal betrayal) of the Indian Code.
