Sanchar saathi portal: Mobile phone is lost or stolen has become a common problem nowadays, due to which everyone is upset. But now the Government of India has started such a facility, so that you can easily track and recover your lost or stolen phone.
The Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), working under the Department of Telecommunications, has launched a portal called Sanchar Saathi. This portal helps in blocking, tracking and getting back your mobile phone through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CIER) system. This portal has so far blocked millions of phones and has reached more than four lakh phones to its right owners.

If your phone is lost or stolen, you can get back it by following the easy steps given below:
- First of all, take a duplicate SIM card from your telecom operator.
- Register a complaint of theft or lost in the nearest police station.
- After this sanchar saathi portal (https://www.ceir.gov.in/) Go on.
- Click on the option of “Block/Stolen Mobile” on the homepage.
- Fill your mobile phone’s IMEI number, complaint information, link to Aadhaar and fill an alternative contact number.
- After registration, the system sends an alert immediately to the police, cybercrime unit and telecom operator.
- If your phone is used on the network even after stolen, the system will give you immediate information and will help track the phone.
C-DOT said that the most important thing is to report as soon as possible if the phone is lost or stolen. The sooner you register, the sooner the system will be able to track your phone, before the phone goes into someone else’s hand or sent out.
