Mumbai: Ahead of its August 14 release in theatres, Yash Raj Films’ highly-anticipated spy thriller ‘War 2’ is having to make certain alterations.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has ordered some audio and video modifications in the film starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, Bollywood Hungama reported.
The modifications include trimming of some sensual scenes and muting of some references in at least six different scenes in the film.
An ‘obscene’ dialogue was replaced with a toned-down sentence, and an ‘obscene’ gesture was ordered to be removed.
The CBFC also directed the makers to tone down the sensual imagery by 50%.
‘War 2’ got a U/A 16+ certificate from the board on August 6, with a runtime of three hours — 2 hours, 59 minutes and 49 seconds, to be precise.
However, two days later, the makers of ‘War 2’ voluntarily approached CBFC to shorten the duration film to 2 hours, 51 minutes, and 44 seconds.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, ‘War 2’ is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster ‘War’, which featured Hrithik, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles.
