Outlander's spin-off, Blood of My Blood has premiered with fans keen to know all about its cast.

The MGM+ series will once again take viewers back in time, this time focusing on the passionate romances of Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) parents during the First World War.

Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) falls head over heels for Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield), but when she touches those mystical Scottish stones, she is transported to the 18th Century.

How will the couple reunite after being separated by time, much like their daughter Claire would later experience?

As the beloved romantic drama makes its debut, let's get to know actress Hermione Corfield a bit better.

Born in December 1993 in London, Corfield's passion for the arts began at a young age. She studied English Literature at University College London before enrolling in a method acting course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.

She also had a brief stint as a model, gracing the cover of Tatler UK in 2013.

However, it wasn't long before she ventured into acting, appearing in 50 Kisses and Mr Holmes, before securing a role in Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

She played a shop girl who was revealed to be a secret agent, only to be killed off by the villain, portrayed by actor Sean Harris.

Speaking about working alongside Cruise as Ethan Hunt, she described it as "the most incredible experience, it was an absolute dream to work with him and such a massive opportunity for a young actress just starting out."

The following year, the 31-year-old secured a role in the horror action flick Pride and Prejudice and Zombies which transforms the English countryside from the beloved Jane Austen novel into a zombie-infested nightmare.

Corfield landed the part of Cassandra Featherstone and whilst the film boasts major stars including Lily James and Matt Smith, as someone with a background in literature, she initially harboured reservations about participating.

She revealed to Tumblr: "When I first saw the title I was amused but I also thought they were slaughtering an iconic book.

"But it's actually a stroke of genius combining zombies and period drama - it's hilarious!"

Corfield has secured her place as one of the four principal stars in the Outlander spin-off, Blood of My Blood.

Her character Julia Moriston's epic romance unfolds with First World War soldier Henry Beauchamp, portrayed by War Horse and Mamma Mia! star Jeremy Irvine.

Chemistry between the leads is crucial on set, though this proved less challenging than anticipated since Corfield and Irvine were already acquainted before filming commenced.

She revealed to Cinema Daily US: "I was familiar with Outlander and I was familiar with the project.

"When I got the call saying that they wanted to screen test me, I then realised that Jeremy Irvine was playing Henry, which was a really lovely surprise because he and I have known each other for 10 years, so I was quite lucky in that aspect.

"Whenever you walk into those chemistry reads, it can be a bit of a challenge, while with him there was an immediate level of comfort, which was a huge advantage."

In addition to Blood of My Blood, Corfield has an intriguing thriller lined up, as per her IMDb profile.

Currently in post-production, she is set to star in Family Secrets alongside Grey's Anatomy's Eric Dane and The Fosters' Maia Mitchell.

The plot summary states: "A young man infiltrates a wedding to seek revenge on the bride's grandfather by befriending the groom and seducing the bride."

Outlander Blood of My Blood premieres on Saturday, August 9, on MGM+ in the UK.
