Rajinikanths upcoming action thriller film Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is creating massive buzz at the box office even prior its release. Featuring a stellar cast that includes Nagarjuna Upendra Shruti Haasan and a cameo appearance by Aamir Khan the film has generated huge anticipation. Reportedly the films international rights have already been sold for Rs 68 crore. Interestingly Coolie that has earned Rs 30 crore from its International advance bookings has become the biggest opener for a Tamil film in the overseas markets according to a report by Sacnilk. According to a report by India Today Coolie will have early morning shows in Kerala and Karnataka starting at 6 am. However in Tamil Nadu fans will have to wait until 9 am for the first show to be out. This decision comes after the state government cancelled all early morning screenings following the tragic loss of a fan during the first show of Thunivu in 2023. Reportedly several theatres across Tamil Nadu have put up disclaimers revealing that only 18 and above people will be allowed to watch Coolie in theatres. Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai wrote on X Even before booking in TN starts for #Coolie multiplexe majors PVR INOX and AGS Cinemas have announced that the film is (A) certified and those below 18 will not be allowed!
