Thiruvananthapuram Thiruvananthapuram: Managing Director Harshita Ataluri, Managing Director of Bavako, has termed the claim that online liquor sales will convert homes into bar. He said that a comprehensive plan to increase revenue from the sale of liquor has already been submitted to the government. He also said that restaurants of tourist destinations should be allowed to serve beer immediately.

Small liquor making companies should be allowed to make fresh beer. The argument that online liquor sales will convert homes into bar, is baseless. Late, the government will approve the proposal of Bavako. Kerala does not have enough liquor shops. If the idea of selling online liquor is applied, then it can get additional revenue of Rs 500 crore. Kerala has only 283 liquor shops, while Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have more than 5000. This is the reason why liquor shops are always crowded here. The government has not adopted any supporting stance, but they can take time to consider it. Those who buy liquor from shops take him home to drink anyway.

How can anyone claim that minors are no longer being given alcohol? If liquor is being purchased illegally, it is the responsibility of the Excise and Police Department to stop it. Bewko is running a valid business, and its purpose is to make it more profitable. We are also expected to get approval for low alcohol beverages. The concern of the Finance Department that revenue will decrease, is baseless. We have also requested a change in tax structure. Discussion on this is going on. It is not completely correct to say that only drinking alcohol causes crimes, “said Harshita Ataluri.
