New Delhi: On Monday, the Election Commission refuted the allegations of 'vote theft' made by the Congress party and its leader Rahul Gandhi during a protest in the capital.
The Election Commission released a 'fact-check' in response to the claims from the opposition INDIA bloc, which had earlier conducted a protest against the electoral roll revisions in Bihar.
To support its stance on transparency during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, the EC provided a list of documents. This included video testimonials from representatives of various political parties, including RJD, Congress, and CPI.
Additionally, the electoral authority detailed its discussions with political party representatives before, during, and after the draft electoral rolls were published in Bihar, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining transparency throughout the SIR process.
The EC stated, 'Pure Electoral Rolls strengthen democracy,' and also shared a link to its daily bulletin that has been issued since the draft electoral rolls were made public.
