Aadhaar is a 12-digit number issued to every individual by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It is an important document that has been made mandatory by many institutions to avail of government benefits and welfare schemes. Apart from this, it also serves as identity proof and address proof for all services like banking, admission, driving license, passport, and different forms. Given its important role, it is important to keep all the information entered in Aadhaar updated to avoid any kind of mistake.

Whenever you enter your Aadhaar number on any portal, a one-time password (OTP) is sent to your mobile number to confirm your identity. However, this can be quite troublesome if you have taken a new number and it is not updated in the UIDAI database. To avoid such possibilities, citizens are advised to keep their mobile numbers updated in the UIDAI database.
