Nowadays, many people are using two SIM cards, but recharge only one number for calling. While many do not recharge the second SIM for many months, they keep receiving calls. However, after a while, that SIM card gets closed, and the number is allotted to someone else. Recently, a case has also happened with cricketer Rajat Patidar.

His old number got closed due to non-recharge. After some time, this number was allotted to someone else. After this, that person started getting phone calls from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. After this incident, many people will have this question in their minds: after all, for how many days does the SIM remain on without recharge? So let us tell you about this in detail today...

What does TRAI's rule say?
Let us tell you that Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, i.e., TRAI, has made this rule for all telecom companies that if a user uses a SIM without recharge for a period, then due to non-recharge, their number will be closed and given to someone else.

Jio and Airtel
The SIMs of Airtel and Jio remain active for 90 days without recharge. Whereas incoming calls can stop within a few weeks to a month. Not only this, but if the recharge is not done on time, your number can also be given to another user. Although Airtel also gives a grace period of 15 days to its users, if the recharge is not done even in the grace period, the SIM gets completely closed.

Vi and BSNL
The SIM of Vodafone-Idea i.e., VI remains active for 90 days without recharge. While BSNL gives the longest time where your SIM remains on for 180 days without recharge. In such a situation, for those users who want to keep the SIM active, BSNL is the best option.
