Thousands of devotees flocked to Pune's famous Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple on Tuesday on the occasion of Angarki Chaturthi.

What is Angarki Chaturthi?

Angarki Chaturthi is an auspicious day in the Hindu calendar. It is considered significant for devotees of Lord Ganesha.

On this day, several devotees observe a fast and worship Lord Ganesha, seeking his blessings to overcome obstacles and bring prosperity and happiness.

Traffic curbs:

On account of Angarki Chaturthi, the Pune Traffic Police imposed temporary traffic restrictions in the city.

This was done with the anticipation that thousands of people would visit the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple on Chhatrapati Shivaji Road in the central part of Pune

To prevent traffic congestion, Chhatrapati Shivaji Road was closed for vehicles from 7am onwards.

No vehicle heading towards Swargate was allowed to use Chhatrapati Shivaji Road. Instead, they were asked to use the Bajirao Road.

Additionally, vehicles were not allowed to travel from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk. They had to take Abhinav Chowk (Puram Chowk) - Tilak Road - Alka Talkies Chowk - FC Road.

Moreover, vehicles going from Abhinav Chowk (Puram Chowk) to Shivajinagar had to take an alternate route of SG Barve Chowk - Jangali Maharaj Chowk - Khandoji Baba Chowk - Tilak Chowk - Tilak Road.
