Lightning warning in Uttar Pradesh
If we talk about Uttar Pradesh, the rain in almost all the districts of the state including Lucknow for the last one week has provided relief from severe humidity, but the threat of floods has also started looming in many areas. Due to continuous rain, the maximum temperature has dropped by four degrees Celsius.
During this period, there is a possibility of lightning along with thunderstorms in Meerut, Shamli, Saharanpur. Along with this, heavy showers are expected in Agra, Aligarh, Mathura and surrounding districts.
Monsoon will rain heavily in Bihar
Due to the effect of monsoon in Bihar, there is movement of clouds in most of the districts and there is sporadic rain at some places. According to the Meteorological Center Patna, during the next 24 hours, the capital and surrounding areas will remain partly cloudy, there will be sporadic rain with thunder at some places.
Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib Yatra postponed till August 14 due to bad weather
Life in Uttarakhand is affected due to rain. A woman passenger died while four people were injured when a boulder fell on the car from a hill in Ratuda area on the Badrinath Highway in Rudraprayag. The Badrinath Highway in Chamoli is continuously getting blocked due to landslides.
On Tuesday, travelers had to face trouble due to the highway being blocked at three places. Chamoli district administration has postponed the pilgrimage to Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib till August 14. The pilgrimage to Yamunotri Dham could not be smooth even today due to the damage of the footpath. Kedarnath Yatra is postponed till August 14.
Red alert in these areas of Uttarakhand
According to the weather department, heavy rains may put us to a tough test in the next two days. For Wednesday, a red alert for extremely heavy rain has been issued for Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Champawat and Bageshwar and an orange alert has been issued for Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Almora and Pithoragarh.
Heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir cause landslides, block roads
Life in Jammu and Kashmir was badly affected due to torrential rains on Tuesday. There was a flood situation in many places. The water level of rivers, streams and drains has increased. Apart from landslides and falling of trees in various parts of Rajouri, there was heavy damage to the power infrastructure. Two buildings were damaged. Many kutcha houses were also damaged due to rain. Government and private schools remained closed in four districts.
A landslide has occurred near Chingus on the Rajouri-Poonch National Highway, in which a part of the road has collapsed. The maximum rainfall occurred in Reasi district. At the same time, debris fell from the mountains at many places on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, but it was soon removed from the road.
16 villages of Kapurthala were flooded with water from the Beas river
Heavy rains occurred in many districts of Punjab on Tuesday. Life in 16 villages has been disrupted due to the flooding of Beas river in Mand area of Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala district. On the other hand, water is being released from Pong Dam due to continuous rains in the hill states.
Due to the release of water from Harike Head Works, thousands of acres of crops in more than a dozen villages in Tarn Taran district got submerged in water. Due to the release of 50 thousand cusecs of water from Hussainiwala Head, there is a flood situation in Ferozepur district. Hundreds of acres of crops in the low lying areas here have been submerged.
