Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A grand ‘Tiranga Yatra’ filled with patriotic fervor will be taken out in the city on August 13, starting at 4 pm from Rajwada and ending at Gandhi Hall.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will lead the procession in a Tricolor-themed chariot, accompanied by senior BJP leaders and citizens of Indore.
Announcing the event, BJP city president Sumit Mishra said the procession is part of nationwide celebrations ahead of the 79th Independence Day on August 15.
“The ‘Tiranga Yatra’ will be a grand expression of patriotism, with people from all sections of society joining in,” Mishra said.
The Chief Minister will be joined in the chariot by cabinet ministers Kailash Vijayvargiya, Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shankar Lalwani, mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, MLAs Ramesh Mendola, Golu Shukla, Malini Gaud, Mahendra Hardia, Madhu Verma, Manoj Patel, BJP state vice president Jitu Jirati and state general secretary Kavita Patidar. Participants will carry the national flag throughout the procession.

Hundreds of welcome stages will be set up along the route, with local traders decorating shops with the Tricolor and showering petals on the procession.
Representatives from various communities, youths, students, NCC cadets, sports persons and cultural groups will participate in traditional attire. Women will join in saffron sarees, while saints and religious leaders will walk alongside.
The procession will also feature brass bands playing patriotic tunes, tribal dance troupes performing to folk renditions of national songs, Sikh participants in saffron turbans, and members of the Maharashtrian community showcasing the traditional ‘Nashik Dhol.’

Responding to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Tuesday organised ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and Cleanliness Rallies across all zones and ward areas of the city.
The rallies saw enthusiastic participation from local public representatives, school students, NGO teams, sanitation workers, and citizens. Participants pledged to hoist the national flag at their homes, spread awareness about its significance and remain committed to cleanliness.
In Ward 47, Mayor-in-Council member Nandkishore Pahadia and zonal officer PS Kushwaha led the rally with students of Bal Vinay Mandir School. Ward 64 saw Manish Sharma along with officials marching from Navlakha to Teen Imli. Similar spirited rallies were held in Shiv Nagar (Ward 51), Khati Mohalla (Ward 52), Dhanwantari Nagar (Ward 80), Bhawani Nagar (Ward 18), Bhil Colony (Ward 54), MR-10 Service Road (Ward 21), and other areas.
Children’s Academy School students joined the rally in Ward 56 under zonal officer Raj Thakur’s leadership. In Ward 74, Sunita Sunil Hardia and her team covered Anantpuri Colony, Aditya Nagar, and Ahilyapuri Colony. Other major rallies included Ban Ganga to Ujjain Naka (Ward 10), Nanda Nagar Government Higher Secondary School (Ward 23), Bari Bhamori Government School (Ward 28), Barfani Dham Higher Secondary School (Ward 30), Gada Public School (Ward 37), Nehru Nagar (Ward 26), Pipliyahana Government School (Ward 50), and Khati Pura Government Higher Secondary School (Ward 20). Zone 22 held its rally in the Talawali Chanda Talab area.
