The third ODI between West Indies and Pakistan was a one-sided affair. Shai Hope outscored the entire Pakistan team and made 120 not out while the visitors folded for a mere 92 in Trinidad. The 202-run win for West Indies helped them clinched the series 2-1. This also ended a 34-year wait for the hosts. This was the first time West Indies had beaten Pakistan in an ODI series since 1991.

Back then, West Indies had won 2-0. Since then, Pakistan had been unbeaten in 11 series out of which they won 10. This loss ends that streak. The hero for the home side was Hope. His 94-ball knock contained 10 fours and five sixes.

Chasing 295, Pakistan got nowhere close. Jayden Seales was the hero with 6/18 as the tourists failed to reach three figures. Salman Agha top-scored with 30. For Hope, it was an 18th century which makes him number three for West Indies in ODIs. Only Chris Gayle (25) and Brian Lara (19) are ahead of him.

Hope is also the fifth fastest to score 18 ODI tons. He did it in 137 innings. Babar Azam leads the pack by doing it in just 97 innings while Virat Kohli is the fastest for India having done it in 119 innings. For Pakistan, this is the 10th time they have been bowled out for less than 100. Four of those have come against the West Indies.

Hope scored 28 runs more than the entire Pakistan team. Only one other West Indian has a bigger difference between his individual score and the opposition’s team score. That is 54 by Richie Richardson who made 109 vs Sri Lanka in 1986 and the Lankans made just 55. Just like back then, this was a dominating performance.

Pakistan started well by winning the first ODI by five wickets but then West Indies won by the same margin and made it 1-1. The decider went in the hosts’ favour and they hardly broke a sweat to outplay the guests in all departments.
