Samajwadi Party MLA Pooja Pal expressed her gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for implementing a zero-tolerance policy towards crime, which she believes has significantly improved law and order in the state. She stated that such policies have brought her justice, particularly in the case of notorious criminals like Atiq Ahmed, who was involved in her husband Rajoo Pal's murder.

During a marathon discussion in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on the 'Vision Document 2047', Pooja Pal remarked that everyone is aware of who was responsible for her husband's murder. She thanked the Chief Minister for listening to her when no one else would, asserting that his policies have provided justice not only to her but to many other women in Prayagraj.

Pooja Pal praised CM Yogi for ensuring that her husband's killer, Atiq Ahmed, faced justice. She noted that when she felt no one was willing to stand up against criminals like Ahmed, she decided to raise her voice. She emphasized that it was CM Yogi who ultimately delivered justice when she was exhausted from fighting.

In 2005, shortly after their marriage, Pooja Pal's husband, BSP MLA Raju Pal, was murdered. In February 2023, a key witness in the case, Umesh Pal, was also shot dead in Prayagraj. Umesh and his security personnel were attacked with multiple gunshots and explosives. Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were identified as the main suspects and were subsequently arrested. Tragically, on the night of April 15, 2023, Umesh was killed by individuals posing as journalists while being taken for a medical examination.
