Nicola Hodges near death experience: 32-year-old Nicola Hodges of Britain was once on the verge of death. After a change in her epilepsy medication, her condition deteriorated, she was put on 24-hour dialysis and went into a deep coma. The doctors had clearly told the family that her chances of survival were only 20%. The family spent nights near her bed thinking the worst, but a miracle happened and Nicola defeated death.
Experience beyond death (UK woman coma story)
Nicola described the coma as a near-death experience, but it was not like the stories you hear about. There were no white doors to heaven, just a warmth and an amber light, she said. This feeling convinced me that there is something after death... whether it is energy or some other form of life.
Challenges after coma (epilepsy medication side effect)
After coming out of a coma, Nicola suffered from confusion, memory loss and mental changes. Six months later, she suffered four bleeds in her brain after falling during a seizure. "I used to be very bright, quick-witted and confident, but now I would forget simple things. I used to feel lost among adults in family meetings, so I felt comfortable sitting with children," she said.
Health struggles and accidents (woman writing book after coma)
Nicola is constantly troubled by migraines, sensory overload and seizures. For safety reasons she cannot live alone and now lives with her parents in Folkestone. She once went deaf in one ear after falling down the stairs, while she narrowly escaped drowning during a seizure in the swimming pool.
Step towards new hope (coma se waapas)
Despite the difficulties, Nicola refuses to give up. She has made a list of goals to achieve before the age of 40, the biggest of which is to write a book about her life experiences.
