Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella believes that Bill Gates vision which has been guiding the software giant since its inception in 1975 have now become obsolete and that there is a need of new ideas amid the spectacular rise of era of Artificial Intelligence.
In an internal note Nadella underlined that the vision given by Bill Gates who founded Microsoft together with Paul Allen is now outdated. Nadella said that the present situation is similar to the one of the early 1990s when imagining a workplace and household without a PC was nearly impossible.
When Bill founded Microsoft he envisioned not just a software company but a software factory unconstrained by any single product or category. That idea has guided us for decades. But today its no longer enough Nadella stated.
What is the reason behind Nadellas comments?
Nadellas remark has come at a time when Microsoft has recorded great financial results however it is also working to implement workforce reduction. The enigma of success in an industry that has no franchise said Nadella referring to the paradox of a situation that the company is going through.
With Microsoft now focusing on restructuring around tree major areas - security quality and AI transformation Nadella highlighted that the company will reimagine every layer of the tech stack for AI spanning infrastructure applications and agents.
