Every year the festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated with great pomp on the Ashtami date of Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha at 12 pm. On this day, devotees worship Shri Krishna methodically and offer them their beloved things. Night worship is considered to be of special importance on Janmashtami, because there is a religious belief that Lord Krishran was born in the midnight. That is why devotees anoint Shri Krishna on the night of Janmashtami and celebrate his birth. Let us tell you what you should do at 12 o'clock on Janmashtami.
To please Lord Krishna and get his grace, you should chant the Mantra "Hare Krishna", recite the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and serve him with love and devotion. Apart from this, you can offer special worship, consecration and enjoyment to please Lord Krishna on a special occasion like Janmashtami.
On the day of Janmashtami, Vrati should not sleep at all in the afternoon. In Janmashtami fast, eating food and salt is considered taboo, so do not consume it. Along with this, one should stay away from tamasic food on Janmashtami.
Lord Shri Krishna's most beloved mantra is considered to be "Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya". According to religious belief, this mantra is a symbol of deep reverence and dedication to Lord Krishna and chanting it brings happiness, peace and prosperity in life.
Worship and all:- To please Lord Krishna, worship him on Janmashtami. Then they should offer flowers, incense-lamps, kumkum, basil, sesame, barley, akshat, turmeric and sandalwood.
Naivedya (enjoyment):- On Janmashtami, Lord Vishnu should offer Makhan-Mishri, coriander registry, and milk made of milk.
Chanting of Krishna Mantras:- Chant Krishna mantras like "Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya" on Janmashtami. Lord Krishna is pleased with this.
Listening to Bhagwat Katha:- Listening to Bhagwat Purana on Janmashtami and reciting the pastimes of Lord Krishna is also considered auspicious.
