Traffic Management for Janmashtami Festivities

In anticipation of large crowds during the Janmashtami celebrations at the ISKCON Temple located in East of Kailash, the traffic police have released a travel advisory for Saturday. This advisory includes information on road closures, route diversions, and restrictions on heavy vehicle movement in certain areas of South and South-East Delhi.

According to the advisory, during the festivities, pedestrians will be allowed to move along Raja Dheer Sen Marg between Captain Gaur Marg and Sant Nagar Red Light. Drivers are advised to utilize alternative routes such as Captain Gaur Marg, Outer Ring Road, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg.

To avoid congestion, the traffic police have urged devotees to use public transport, particularly the Delhi Metro. Those arriving by metro are recommended to disembark at the NSIC Okhla Metro Station and proceed to the temple via Captain Gaur Marg. Additionally, visitors are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and adhere to the signs and instructions provided by traffic police.

To ensure smooth vehicle movement, the traffic police have implemented special arrangements and restrictions from 8 AM on Saturday until 2 AM on August 17. During this period, the movement of heavy, medium, and light commercial vehicles will be restricted on major routes.

Vehicles heading towards Captain Gaur Marg from Mahatma Gandhi Marg will be redirected towards Ashram or Moolchand. Similarly, vehicles from Outer Ring Road towards Captain Gaur Marg will be diverted towards Modi Mill Flyover.

At Paras Chowk, vehicles coming from Outer Ring Road will be redirected towards Modi Mill Flyover or Chiraag Delhi, while those approaching from BRT Central School Flyover will also be directed towards Chiraag Delhi.

Officials have stated that these measures are in place to ensure public safety and facilitate smooth vehicle movement, especially with the expected arrival of thousands of devotees and distinguished guests at the temple.

Additionally, the Delhi traffic police have announced traffic changes and route restrictions related to a special event scheduled in Rohini on August 17. The advisory indicates that several roads around Bhagwan Mahavir Road, Bawana Road, Kanjhawala Road, Kanjhawala Link Road, and Badshah Dahiya Marg will be closed or restricted during the event to ensure the safety of attendees and the smooth flow of traffic.
