Hyderabad: Telangana deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that future projects on the Godavari basin are possible only after surplus waters are formally shared between the two Telugu-speaking states.

He made the remark in response to a query about the Polavaram-Banakacherla Link Project (PBLP), proposed by the Andhra Pradesh government, while participating in the ‘Vote Chori’ protest at Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

On ‘vote chori’ charges against the Election Commission of India by Opposition party members, Bhatti said the irregularities in the special intensive revision (SIR) in poll-bound Bihar are a direct violation of citizen rights.

“BJP benefited in previous elections because genuine voters were removed from the list, and bogus voters were added. Despite Rahul Gandhi exposing it with evidence, ECI is acting like in favour of the party. This is dangerous for India’s democracy,” he said.
