Popular Beats earbuds slashed in price but only for a limited time

I test a great number of wireless earbuds each year in my role as a tech reviewer, and while many are truly excellent, the issue remains that the best Bluetooth buds are ludicrously expensive.

That's why the current discount on the Beats Fit Pro on Amazon caught my eye. There's a "limited time deal" on the black, grey and white model of the superb earbuds that cuts the price 41 percent from £219.99 down to £129.

£129 is a much more reasonable price for the Beats Fit Pro, which I have tested extensively and found very good. Beats, which is owned by Apple, makes several different wireless earbuds and these are one of the fitness and exercise focussed options, as the Fit Pro name suggests.

The design includes non-removable wing tips that you can tuck inside the curves of your ear to get a more secure fit. You can change out the in-ear tips for different sizes in the box to get the best feel and to seal the ear for the best sound.

I like the Beats Fit Pro for this simple but effective design, which means they never fall out, and for how similar they are to the AirPods Pro. The noise cancellation and transparency modes are very similar in quality to Apple's famous white buds, but the Fit Pro are much better suited to exercise thanks to the secure fit.

The buds also support Apple's Spatial Audio mode with dynamic head tracking in movies and games, though this isn' t a feature I use. I'm more concerned about audio quality for blasting my music when working out or just chilling, and the Beats deliver on this with punchy, more bass-driven sound than AirPods, making them a good choice for the gym or trail.

You can get six hours of playback off a charge, with up to 24 hours with the fully charged case, which I do note is not the smallest out there. Better is the quick pairing with Android phones, which means these aren't just a top choice for iPhone owners (though you won't get Spatial Audio support on Android).

The Beats Fit Pro originally launched in 2021, so at this stage they are close to four years old. I still believe they are a good choice, but not at the RRP. £129 is a much better price, and one at which I can still recommend these accomplished earbuds.

If you want to spend less, the Beats Solo Buds are a steal on sale at £59, but they lack any kind of noise cancellation and need to be plugged into a charging cable to charge back up.

At the time of writing, Apple's noise cancelling AirPods Pro 2 are on sale from Amazon for £189. They have better audio overall than the Beats and offer more advanced hearing aid features, too.
