Kingdomdespite its action-thriller narrative and carefully coordinated fight scenes, does not appear as strong at the domestic box office—something the producers will likely be unhappy about. The film, after 11 days of theatrical release, grossed Rs 50.68 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

The Telugu film had a promising start on its opening day, minting Rs 18 crore, but the less-than-flattering reviews hurt its momentum in the days that followed. Collections began to dip sharply, with the second week only collecting an average of Rs 1 crore per day.

The Gowtam Tinnanuri directorial met with poor reception on its debut. Audiences who went into the theatres with high expectations exited disappointed. While many lauded Deverakonda’s performance, others noted that the plot felt “forced” and that Anirudh Ravichander’s musical composition fell flat.

Kingdom also faced stringent competition from the Hindi release Saaiyaaraan unexpected hit, which is still dominating theatres. On day 24 of its release, the Mohit Suri directorial currently sits at Rs 314.25 crore.

Though Kingdom is faltering, it ranks as Deverakonda’s second-best film in terms of monetary collection, currently sitting behind Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2017 flick Arjun Reddywhose lifetime collections amount to Rs 51 crore. It appears likely that Kingdom will soon dethrone Arjun Reddy as the actor’s career-best.
