Deep Ranjan Bisoyee Shines As Odisha Para Shuttlers Clinch A Gold & 2 Bronze Medals At Peru Meet

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s para badminton players continue to excel on the international stage.

Deep Ranjan Bisoyee bagged two medals at the Peru Para Badminton International Level 2 championship, while Subhrajeet Maharana added a third.

Deep, partnering with Manoj Sarkar, clinched gold in Men’s Doubles SL3-SU4 category. In the final on Sunday, Deep and Manoj got the better of Diogo Daniel (Portugal) and Mathieu Thomas (France) 22-20, 21-11.

Deep also assured himself a bronze by reaching the semifinals of Men’s Singles SL4 category, where he went down fighting to Brazil’s Rogerio Junior Oliveira 4-21, 23-21, 15-21.

Subhrajeet’s bronze came in the Men’s Doubles SL3-SL4 category in which he and Md Arwaz Ansari advanced to the last-four stage before going down 14-21, 13-21 to Daniel and Thomas.
