What is the first aid for high blood pressure at home: High blood pressure or hypertension has become a very common problem in today's lifestyle. Most people fall prey to it after the age of 40. At the same time, if blood pressure is not controlled, the risk of serious diseases like heart disease, stroke and kidney problems can increase. In such a situation, it is very important to pay attention to it. Now, if someone around you or your parents also have high BP problem, then this article can be helpful for you. Recently, famous nutritionist Deepshikha Jain has told a very easy way to control BP. Let's know about

What is this special method?

In a video shared on her Instagram handle, Deepshikha Jain explains, if your parents or someone in the family has high blood pressure, then you can feed them dark chocolate daily.

Why is dark chocolate beneficial?

Elements called flavanols are found in dark chocolate. These increase the production of nitric oxide in the body. Nitric oxide helps to relax the blood vessels. When the veins relax, the blood flow becomes smooth and gradually the blood pressure starts becoming normal.

Apart from this, dark chocolate is also beneficial in improving mood and reducing stress, which is also important for blood pressure control.

Keep these things in mind

  • For this, nutritionists always recommend choosing dark chocolate with 70% cocoa.
  • The amount of sugar in chocolate should be less.
  • Avoid milk chocolate or very sweet chocolates as they contain more sugar and fat.

How much should one eat?

A nutritionist says, 1-2 small pieces (about 20-25 grams) a day are enough to control BP. Eating more can increase weight and sugar levels, which is not good for blood pressure.
