SUV sales have picked up momentum in recent times, and this has helped Mahindra cement its position as the secondbestselling carmaker in India for a few months now. Mahindra has posted strong YoY growth in the last few months, but has not managed to top the charts as the best SUV seller, which is held by Hyundai.

Here are the top five bestselling SUVs in July 2025, compared to their sales in July 2024.

Bestselling SUVs in July 2025

The bestseller in July was the Hyundai Creta, which also happens to be Hyundai’s bestselling vehicle. In July 2025, Hyundai recorded sales of 16,898 units, but the automaker did see a YoY drop in sales of 3 percent. For reference, Hyundai sold 17,350 units of the Creta in July 2024.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza comes second, having recorded sales of 14,065 units in July 2025. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza also sees a similar situation as the Creta, as the SUV has seen a 4 percent decline in YoY sales. In July 2024, Maruti Suzuki sold 14,676 units.

The Mahindra Scorpio is third, which is the bestseller for the carmaker for a while now. Mahindra recorded sales of 13,747 units last month, as compared to 12,237 units sold in July 2024, which is a growth of 12 percent. The Mahindra Scorpio includes the sales of the Scorpio N and the Scorpio Classic.

The Mahindra Scorpio N is available with petrol and diesel choices, while the Scorpio Classic is available with a diesel engine only. The Mahindra Scorpio N also gets a dedicated parttime 4X4 system, which none of the others on the list get.
