Apple is the world’s third-largest company and has its global headquarters at Apple Park in California. The campus spread across 2.8 million sq. ft.which has about 12000 employees. Apple’s current CEO is Tim Cook whose net worth is at Rs 21761 crore.
What Is Apple Park In The USA?
Apple owns the world’s largest and most expensive office which is spread across 2.8 million square feet. It was completed in 2017 and was first envisioned by Steve Jobs in 2011. The building is known as “The Ring” which has 800 glass panels. It cost around Rs 43522 crore ($5 billion) to construct.
Apple co-founder and late CEO Steve Jobs presented the grand plan for this campus to the Cupertino City Council in 2011. This was his last public appearance after which he passed away. In his memory the theater inside the campus was named the “Steve Jobs Theater.”
Construction started in 2014 after demolishing the old Hewlett-Packard buildings and was completed in nearly three years. During the process Apple faced challenges like large-scale tree purchases to local tax disputes.
Cost Of Apple Park
The main highlight of Apple Park is its massive circular building called “The Ring.” This four-storey structure has 800 giant glass panels many of which function as sliding doors. According to media reports the project cost around $5 billion (Rs 43522 crore). The building is earthquake-resistant supported by 692 large steel bases with foundations extending two stories underground.

Who Designed Apple Park?
The office was designed by renowned designer Jony Ive in collaboration with Foster + Partners. The design is highly flexible allowing interior spaces to be adapted into either large open areas or smaller offices as needed.
Apple Park is also called the “world’s greenest office building.” due to its natural ventilation system it requires no additional heating or cooling for nine months of the year. In partnership with First Solar it generates 130 MW of clean energy. Landscaped gardens have also been developed at the center of the campus.

The Steve Jobs Theater is another landmark within the campus. It features a 165-foot glass cylinder topped with a carbon-fiber roof under which there is an auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000 people.
