India successfully Tests Agni-5 Missile: On 20 August 2025 from the Integrated Test range in Chandipur, Odisha, India successfully tested the medium-dire ballistic missile Agni-5. Agni-5 MIRV is equipped with technology, that is, it can be launched simultaneously on several targets. Its first test was done in April 2012. Its range is 5000 km, so that the missile is capable of attacking many countries including Pakistan, China, Türkiye.
Agni-5 is India's first and only inter-concentnantal ballistic missile (ICBM).
Its firepower is more than 5000 km. Its range comes to China, as well as many parts of Europe and Africa are under its purview.
It is equipped with MIRV technology, that is, many targets can be attacked from the same missile. Many warheads can be released on the same target if needed.
Agni-5 is capable of carrying nuclear weapons up to one and a half tons.
Its speed is Mac 24, that is, 24 times faster than the speed of voice.
The launching system is based on canister technology, allowing it to be easily moved and launched anywhere.
The entire technology, rocket, navigation and propulsion systems are 100% indigenous.
At this time, apart from India, only eight countries have ICBM, including countries like Russia, America, China, France, Israel, Britain and North Korea. This success of Agni-5 missile is considered to be a major achievement in India's defense and missile technology.
