Rain in Mumbai: The continuous rains in Mumbai have slowed down the city’s activities. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow alert for Mumbai on Thursday. Due to heavy rains, there has been waterlogging in the city, which has hindered road, rail and air traffic. This warning comes after the Red and Orange Alerts released earlier this week.
According to IMD, light to moderate rainfall is likely in most districts of Konkan region. Mumbai and its suburbs will be cloudy and some places may receive moderate to heavy rains. The maximum temperature is expected to be 28 ° C and the minimum temperature is 24 ° C.
There is a possibility of moderate rainfall at many parts of south central Maharashtra and some places in north Central Maharashtra, while Marathwada may receive light rain. Yellow alert has also been issued for Pune, Thane, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Satara, Jalna and Nagpur. However, no warnings have been given to Buldhana, Akola and Gondia.
The IMD reported that the rains are likely to continue, but the weather is expected to improve gradually from August 22. Medium rains may continue with cloudy till 26 August.
More than 4,600 people have been evacuated at safe places from nine districts including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Pune, Satara, Sangli and Nanded due to continuous rains.
