Google has officially introduced its latest hardware range, unveiling four new Pixel devices that highlight the company’s growing focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and user experience.
The new Pixel 10 series includes the standard Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold. These smartphones are joined by a fresh suite of accessories, such as the Pixel Watch 4 and updated Pixel Buds.
The Pixel 10 starts at Rs 79,999 in India.
Here’s a look at what’s new in each device:
Pixel 10: Key features
Larger battery: Google is promising major improvements in battery life with the Pixel 10. It features a 4,970 mAh battery, which the company claims can last over 30 hours on a single charge. It supports 30W wired fast charging, 15W Qi2 wireless charging, and works with the new Pixel Snap accessories. A built-in vapour cooling system helps prevent overheating during long usage.
New chipset: The Pixel 10 is powered by the new Google Tensor G5 chip, which is 34% faster than the previous G4 version. It’s the first chip to support the Gemini Nano AI model, enabling over 20 AI-powered features to run on the phone locally, according to Wired.
Improved cameras: For the first time, the standard Pixel model includes a telephoto lens. The Pixel 10 features a 5x optical zoom lens and offers up to 10x optical-quality zoom using advanced image cropping. With Google’s Super Res Zoom, you can get a zoom equivalent of 20x. The rear camera setup also includes a 48MP wide lens and a 13MP ultrawide lens, along with a 10.5MP front camera for selfies.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Highlights
Instant View feature: A new addition to the foldable model, Instant View allows users to preview photos right after taking them, while the phone is still unfolded. This lets you quickly retake a photo if needed, without missing the moment.
Multitasking made easy: With its large inner display, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is designed for multitasking. The Split Screen feature lets you run two apps side-by-side, and you can now adjust the app window sizes. Drag and Drop allows users to move text, images, and files between apps smoothly.
Display and design
The Pixel 10 features a 6.3-inch OLED display with full-HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The screen offers up to 3,000 nits of brightness, making it ideal for use even in bright sunlight. Both front and back are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The interface continues to use Google’s Material You design, allowing users to customise themes and colours easily.
AI features
AI plays a central role in the new Pixel devices. Key AI-powered features include:
Magic Cue: This tool analyses your activity and gives helpful suggestions – for example, pulling up flight information when you call an airline.
Live Translate: Now works on phone calls, breaking language barriers in real time.
Daily Hub: Offers a personalised summary of your schedule, weather, and news headlines.
All AI features are powered by Google Gemini and run on the latest Android 16.
