Mumbai’s relentless monsoon has not spared even its biggest stars. Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s luxurious bungalow “Pratiksha,” worth an estimated ₹200 crore, has reportedly been flooded after the city was hit by one of its worst rain spells of the year.

According to international media reports, Mumbai recorded over 300 mm of rain within just 24 hours, bringing the bustling metropolis to a near standstill. Roads across the city were submerged, train services delayed, and power outages reported in multiple areas — with even the elite neighbourhoods like Juhu, home to many Bollywood celebrities, not immune to the chaos.

A video that has gone viral on social media has further highlighted the severity of the situation. In the 44-second clip, a man is seen walking through the water-logged streets of Juhu. He then opens the main gate of what he claims is Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic residence “Pratiksha.” The camera pans inside, showing the bungalow’s front area submerged in ankle-deep rainwater.

The man filming is heard saying, “No matter how much wealth you have, whether your worth thousands of crores, not even Amitabh Bachchan or Ambani can escape Mumbai’s rains.” His comments struck a chord with netizens, many of whom echoed the sentiment that nature levels the playing field — rich or poor.

Despite the flooding, no official statement has yet been released by the Bachchan family. However, fans expressed concern for the superstar and his family on social media, hoping they are safe and unharmed.

Mumbai’s civic authorities are currently working to drain water from heavily affected areas, but the sheer volume of rainfall continues to challenge the city’s infrastructure. Experts have warned that more heavy rain is expected in the coming days.

While the flooding of a celebrity home like Amitabh Bachchan’s has grabbed headlines, it also sheds light on a larger issue — the vulnerability of Mumbai’s infrastructure, regardless of status or wealth.
