UP: Thirty madrasas in Shravasti have been ordered to reopen by the Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow Bench. Justice Pankaj Bhatia’s single bench rendered this verdict. These madrasas petitioned for this ruling after the government sent them a notice of closure without providing them with an opportunity to reply.
The petition claimed that the administration acted hastily and issued a single notification ordering the closure of all 30 madrasas.
According to the appeal that the madrasa owners filed, the operators of the madrasas were not given adequate time to reply. The administration had quickly issued a single notification ordering the closure of all 30 madrasas. Calling this an arbitrary conduct, the petitioners had knocked on the court’s door.
The High Court made it apparent throughout the hearing that authorities might follow the process to issue a fresh order if they so desired. The court ruled that by following the established process and providing the madrasa operators with a hearing, the authorities may issue fresh directives in this case.
