England: The Oval Invincibles are currently having a fantastic Hundred season. With 20 points in the eight-team tournament, they are presently leading the rankings after winning five of their first six games. The outstanding play of England batsman Jordan Cox, who has amassed 256 runs at a strike rate of 182.85 from six innings so far, is one of the main causes of their run.
In a six-wicket victory against the Trent Rockets at The Oval on Thursday, Cox achieved his third half-century in three straight innings. He used five fours and four sixes to score an undefeated 58 off 36. Cox stitched a 96-run partnership for the third wicket with Sam Curran, who also scored a half-century.
In addition to leading the list of players who have scored the most runs this season, Cox has hit the most sixes (18). Liam Livingstone of the Birmingham Phoenix (211 runs, 17 sixes) is just behind him in second place.
The team must have noticed his performances since an IPL mini auction is scheduled for later this year, and the 24-year-old may start a bidding battle.
Cox bats in the top order and is a wicketkeeper-batter. The young player is well-known for both his explosive presence on the field and his big-hitting abilities. To date, he has represented England in three ODIs and two T20Is. He has participated in the Big Bash League, SA20, PSL, ILT20, and LPL, among other T20 competitions, all over the globe.
Having participated in 151 matches so far and amassed 3399 runs with a strike rate of 141.92, he has extensive T20 expertise. Among his accomplishments are a century and seventeen fifties. He has amassed 3889 runs at an average of 41.81 from 62 games in first-class cricket. He has fourteen half-centuries and eleven centuries.
However, he has only participated in seven List A games, scoring 120 runs with a top individual score of 46.
