Lord Swraj Paul passed away on Thursday evening in London at the age of 94. In a post on 'X', Modi shared his sorrow, stating, 'I am deeply saddened by the demise of Shri Swraj Paul.'
He highlighted Paul's significant impact in industry, philanthropy, and public service, along with his unwavering support for India's close relationship with the UK. Modi reminisced about their numerous meetings and extended his sympathies to Paul's family and admirers, concluding with 'Om Shanti.'
The founder of the Caparo Group of Industries, Lord Paul had recently fallen ill and was hospitalized. Originally from Jalandhar, he moved to the UK in the 1960s for his daughter Ambika's treatment.
