According to a report by Hauterrfly, Sunita Ahuja filed a petition for divorce in the Bandra Family Court on 5 December 2024. Sunita has filed this case under Section 13 (1) (i), (IA), (IB) of the Hindu Marriage Act 1955. Under these sections, the mainstay of divorce has been described as adultery, cruelty and desert. It was also reported earlier that Sunita had sent a divorce notice a few months ago, but now it has been revealed that she has started the legal process.
The news of a rift between Govinda and Sunita has been coming for a long time, but many different reports have come out about the main reasons for this.
Different lifestyle (lifestyle differences): Sunita had admitted in many of her interviews that she and Govinda live in separate apartments. While Govinda likes to meet his work and people, Sunita likes to live a calm life with children.

In this case, the court had issued summons to Govinda, but till May 2025 he did not appear in the court personally. After this, he was issued a ‘show causes notice’ (show cause notice). Since June 2025, both have been asked to try to participate in compulsory counseling sessions by the court. Sunita Ahuja is personally appearing in court, while Govinda is allegedly absent. However, it is not clear whether he is participating in the counseling session virtually.
Talking about the rumors of divorce in her latest Vlog, Sunita said that an attempt is being made to break her house. He also stated that recently, someone was trying to force his house forcibly. His statement indicates the difficulties in his and Govinda’s relationship.
According to HAUUTERRFLY report, Sunita Ahuja has filed a petition for divorce in the Bandra Family Court. The report said that his lawyers have also presented documents. However, no statement has been officially made due to the confidentiality of legal proceedings in this case. Even earlier, one of the lawyers of Govinda confirmed in an interview to India Today in February 2025 that Sunita had filed for divorce 6 months ago, but later resolved her differences.
Amidst the reports of divorce, Sunita Ahuja has denied these rumors many times. He directly told the media that unless he or Govinda himself confirmed this, do not believe any news. She also said that she could not live without Govinda. In addition, he had recently removed the ‘Ahuja’ surname in his name due to astrology, which also gave birth to rumors of divorce, but later he also rejected it.
