Since its debut on June 27, F1: The Movie has shattered global box office records, amassing an impressive INR 4,800 crore worldwide, and is on the verge of hitting the INR 5,000 crore milestone. Due to its immense popularity, the film was re-released in early August, maintaining its strong box office performance.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for Top Gun: Maverick, the film stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 driver who returns to the sport after a long hiatus following a career-ending crash in the 1990s. His character aims to revive a struggling F1 team. The cast also features Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, and Tobias Menzies, with production contributions from Lewis Hamilton and Jerry Bruckheimer.
For those eager to watch the film online, F1: The Movie will be available for rent on Amazon Prime Video starting August 22. It is expected to stream on Apple TV+ sometime between late September and early October, although an official date has yet to be confirmed.
Despite the upcoming OTT release, F1: The Movie continues to screen in select premium theaters. In Mumbai, it can be seen at venues such as PVR ICON Goregaon, Phoenix Palladium, Metro INOX, and Infiniti Andheri.
