The weather has changed due to the re-activation of monsoon in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent moderate to heavy rains in various parts of the state till August 25.
On Friday, light to moderate rain was seen in the southern, eastern and Terai regions. Jaunpur in eastern UP recorded the highest rainfall of 80 mm. Lakhimpur Kheri and Maharajganj recorded 70 mm rainfall. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in 24 districts of the state including Prayagraj, Sonbhadra, Varanasi, Agra for Saturday. There is a possibility of lightning along with thunder in 59 districts.
Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of Regional Meteorological Center Lucknow, said that due to the effect of the new weather system formed in the Bay of Bengal, there are chances of good rain in most areas of UP. There are signs of rain intensifying on 24th and 25th August.

Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Ghazipur, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas.

In Sitapur, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkarnagar, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Rural, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur etc.
The intensity of rain will increase in the capital from today
The weather has changed in the capital for the last two days. Due to increased activity of clouds, there is sporadic drizzle here. According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of the Regional Meteorological Center, light to moderate rain will continue in Lucknow for the next two days. Conditions of moderate to heavy rain may be created in Lucknow on 24 and 25 August.
On Friday afternoon, Hazratganj, Dalibagh, Gomtinagar, Alambagh etc. areas witnessed light showers. The movement of clouds throughout the day reduced the humid heat. Due to this, the maximum temperature recorded a slight drop of 0.2 degrees to 33.3 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature recorded a drop of one degree to 26.4 degrees Celsius.
