In a shocking event, a mother has been accused of murdering her 45-day-old infant by slitting the child's throat in Madhya Pradesh. Authorities believe that the act may be linked to the woman's mental health issues.

DCP Dishesh Agarwal reported that the woman is believed to be suffering from depression, although an investigation is underway to determine the precise motivations behind this tragic incident.

The accused has admitted to her actions and is facing charges under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), according to the DCP.

Furthermore, the senior officer indicated that the woman had previously shown signs of instability, having attempted to strangle her baby before.

In an unrelated case, a suspect was injured during a police encounter in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday night. Reports indicate that the individual was shot in the leg after firing at police officers.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Indirapuram, Abhishek Srivastava, the police had established a checkpoint when they noticed a man on a motorcycle approaching. When asked to stop, the suspect attempted to flee and opened fire on the police.

In response, officers returned fire, injuring the suspect, who was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical care. Initial investigations revealed that the individual had a history of theft and snatching incidents reported at various police stations.

ADCP Srivastava elaborated that during the pursuit, the suspect's motorcycle was found to be stolen, and an illegal firearm was also recovered.
