New Delhi. US President Donald Trump is constantly threatening India. Now the US President has started opposing the former leaders of his own country. Amid tariff tension from India, former US Secretary of State John Carrie said in his statement that mutual respect and cooperation is required for talks. Great countries do not give ultimatum to people all the time.
Foreign policy is constantly changing after Donald Trump became President again in the US. Many former officials have started raising their voice on this. John Carrie, who was Obama’s tenure US Foreign Minister, has taken a dig at Trump’s frequent threatening policy. John said that no great country keeps giving ultimatum all the time. He has also described the ongoing tension between PM Modi and Trump over the trades and tariffs as unfortunate.
Speaking at the ET’s World Leader Forum, Carrie said that no great country gives ultimatum to demonstrate his greatness. The great countries always make real diplomatic efforts, which can help in the consensus and do normal functioning. Talking about the ongoing tariff tension between the US and India, Carrie said that the conversation between any two countries takes place through mutual cooperation and respect. You cannot ask anyone to forcefully talk.
Carrie told Prime Minister Narendra Modi his friend
Former US Foreign Minister Carrie said that the efforts that India is making to talk with America is commendable. PM Narendra Modi and Piyush Goyal have been my good friends. Hopefully, he will solve the dispute better. To be honest, I think India has made a very strong offer in this trade deal conversation. There is hardly any country that the US has not threatened since Trump came to power. Whether it is a neighboring country like Canada, then there should be partners of Europe, friendly countries like India or countries like China and Russia have threatened everyone in some way in the last 6 months. In such a situation, criticism for this policy has increased in America too.
