The CSA has unveiled the South Africa squad for the white-ball series against England, where Kagiso Rabada has been returned after missing the ODI series against Australia.
Rabada missed the limited-overs games against Australia due to ankle inflammation. The Proteas are set to play three ODIs and three T20Is in the South Africa tour of England 2025 and will travel to England directly from Australia.
Speaking on the Kagiso Rabada’s condition, South Africa coach Shukri Conrad said, “We’ll reassess Kagiso in England. We are hopeful he will be available for part of the ODI series, but we’re prioritising T20 cricket and will take a conservative approach.”
Meanwhile, Marcon Jansen who recovered from thumb injury has been included for the T20s, while teenage fast bowler Kwena Maphaka will act as cover for Rabada in both formats.
“It’s great to have Marco back,” Conrad said. “He’s a fantastic all-format player who balances our side, he bowls up front and at the death, and hits the ball a long way.”
Meanwhile, the left-handed batter David Miller also returns to the T20 squad as does Donovan Ferreira which the duo are currently playing in The Hundred 2025 in England.
The tour begins with ODI leg which begins on September 2 at Headingley Carnegie while the second and third ODI will be played on 4 and 7. The T20I leg begins on September 10, with the second and third T20I to be played on 12 and 14 respectively.
